Static in hair is usually caused due to dry air during cold season and subsequently static electricity gets collected in air around us. Moreover, as winter causes rough skin and dry hair that results in the development of static electricity in our hair.
Bring a humidifier home:
Static is mainly caused due to less moisture in air; during winter due to excessive heating inside the house and minimal moisture, static is bound to develop.
Consider getting a humidifier to keep the air inside your house well moisturized. You should also try to regulate temperature at home and make sure the heating settings are adjusted according to outside temperature.
Frequent hair wash is required:
Even if you don't have oily hair, still ensure that you go for frequent hair wash every alternate day to get rid of the problem of static electricity. Better go for hydrating shampoo to resolve this problem of static electricity especially during winter season.
Avoid synthetic hats and scarves:
It is advisable not to wear synthetic hats and scarves as they make your hair more prone to static electricity. As when clothes are made up of synthetic fibre like polyester, it creates electricity by rubbing against each other or against your dry skin to create static electricity.
Consider applying hair moisturizer:
Many good quality hair moisturizers are available in the market. Grab one during winter and ensure that you apply on your hair after each wash to keep static electricity at bay.
Keep away from hair spray:
Make sure that you keep away from using excessive hair spray, if possible stop using hair spray during winter season to avoid static electricity.
Apply hair oil once a week:
Static is also caused due to excessive dryness so make sure that you apply hair oil once in a week; you can choose either olive or coconut oil as they moisturize your hair thoroughly and prevent static electricity as well.
Use wooden comb instead of synthetic one:
Ensure that during winter you buy good quality wooden or natural bristle comb for your hair; keep your synthetic comb or hair brush for summer.
