Make Your Eyes Look Big
Big, flirty eyes are on the most wanted list of women everywhere. You can easily use home remedies and make up tricks to make your eyes look supersized and sexy. If you are looking for easy tips on how to make your eyes look big and beautiful for a hot date or typical day at the office, Read on!
1- Get the red out. When you are trying to draw attention to the eye area, one of the easiest and most important things that you can do is to use eye drops. Removing the tired and red look will open up your eyes. This will be your starting point.
2- Line your water line. The inside line of your eyes shows shadows, vessels and blue tinted skin. This can cause you to look tired and make your skin look gray. You will want to own two pencils for this. You need a flesh colored pencil for everyday wear and a white pencil for evening. Using these pencils will cast light on a naturally shadowed area of your face and allow you to look more awake.
3- Use a very light and neutral eyeshadow over concealer on your lids. Concealer is a very important step because it takes away the look of blotchy skin of the eyelid. Use a neutral shadow to brighten up the eye and give your eye makeup a natural look.
4- Apply shiny silver or light pink lip gloss with a cotton swab to the inner corners of your eyes. This allows light to reflect off of your eyes allowing them to appear much bigger.
5- Look at your eyebrows. If they need to be plucked and shaped, do this before going any further! You will also need to shade them in a little bit. A well defined brow will look great next to large, light reflecting eyes. This will also help to prevent your face from looking washed out with all of the white and light shimmery makeup.
6- Eyeliner application and techniques: Always draw with a freshly sharpened eyeliner pencil, trace the contour of your eye, start your eyeliner above your iris and extend just past the outer corner of your eye, making sure the line is straight across or slightly upward - blend upward and outward; smudge to soften line.
Be aware that eyeliner can be friend or foe - avoid "closing" in the eye and making it look even smaller, by only applying a fine line when outlining the entire eye, and assist this by using a light to medium shade of eyeliner - very dark, heavy liner will make your eyes look smaller.
Application of liner needs to be as close to your lashes as possible, hence the need for a sharp pencil! Use a very fine line when using eyeliner (liquid or pencil), and keep the liner even on both top and bottom.
7- Next, curl your eyelashes. This really opens up the eye.
8- Apply mascara. You will want to apply two to three coats to really make sure that you are showing off every lash. Take care to coat your bottom lashes also. You want to have that contrast between the dark lashes and the white liner.
9- Sweep a highlighter powder on the tops of your cheeks and down the bridge of your nose. This picks up on the reflective qualities of the makeup you have already applied and helps tie it all together.
10- Wear a simple white tee. This will make you look lit from within.
